“The Picnic” by T. Sakellaridis was originally presented with great success in 1915. The winner of the lottery “for the drying of the Mediterranean” becomes involved in a series of hilarious misadventures surrounding a wedding picnic (also known as a potluck dinner). The famous “Hold Me Tight” waltz and other wonderful melodies by Sakellaridis charmingly bring to life all the carefree charm of the Athenian Belle Époque. The Armonia Atenea and George Petrou have once again delved into the archives to revive a forgotten masterpiece through the imagination of Stathis Livathinos.
